Patient Education

Patient education is a routine aspect of treatment that fosters self-awareness in relation to the causes of imbalances including:

  • Emotions
  • Environment
  • Diet
  • Physical Conditions & Stress

Patients receive specific guidelines and recommendations for optimizing their health to avoid relapse of symptoms experienced prior to treatment.

Diet: Traditional Chinese Medicine includes principals governing the profound influence of diet on a person’s well-being. TCM diet principles address common food products in relation to individual needs and circumstances, including for example, seasons and personal tastes. As with medical herbs, food is classified by its nature, temperature, taste, indications and contraindications in the treatment of diseases and the maintenance of health.

Rehabilitation & Exercise: Treatment sometimes involves following a ” home program” regimen of exercises designed to extend and optimize the affects of in-office treatments. Based on the principles of TCM and western physical therapy practices, prescribed treatments account for mental, emotional, and physical needs of the patient.

Referral Network: Referrals to specialists with expertise complimenting TCM treatments are available including:

  • Orthopedic Specialists
  • Neurologists
  • Physiatrists
  • Chiropractors
  • Psychotherapists
  • Personal trainers
  • Pilates
  • Yoga
  • Nutritionists
