Our practitioners help every step of the way with acupuncture, diet, lifestyle and customized botanical prescriptions. Acupuncture is a great way to reduce stress and balance hormones. The sex and stress hormone systems go hand in hand. They share a building bock called pregnenolone. When the body is in under chronic stress, it can be caught up in “survival” mode and the production of stress hormones at the expense of producing sex hormones. This is one underlying cause of hormonal imbalance.

Here are 4 tips to get you started in balancing your sex and stress hormones:

  • Acupuncture can restore balance by helping guide your nervous system out of sympathetic “flight or flight” mode and back into ”rest and digest.” Try weekly visits for 6 weeks as a re-set.

  • Eating a nutrient dense diet that ditches sugar, excess alcohol and caffeine for a rainbow of veggies, healthy fats such as avocado, coconut, ghee and olive oil, nuts and seeds as well as protein such as pasture raised eggs, meat and wild-caught fish will also promote hormonal equilibrium.

  • Prioritizing sleep to log a solid 8 hours is critical to the health of your brain, hormonal and immune systems. Power down devices and read a book or even take an epsom salt bath before bed to optimize a deep and restorative sleep.

  • Move your body every day. Be sure to get at least 30 minutes of walking in daily if you can manage it. Add in yoga, cycling, dancing in your living room or whatever other movement brings you joy another 3 times per week.
